3. You sell into the EU (European Accessibility Act)
The European Accessibility Act has applied since 28 June 2025 to a wide range of digital products and services sold to EU consumers, and enforcement is now live across member states. If you sell to EU customers you likely have obligations, and WCAG 2.1 AA is the technical standard they are measured against. An independent audit is the factual basis for meeting them. Whether the Act covers you, and to what extent, depends on your size, sector, and member state, so treat this as the starting point for that conversation, not the answer to it.
